The DVD

In the fall of 2002, Matt Neff, Tim Elek, and Tony Solary, created a DVD documentary on the rise and fall of the Warner and Swasey Observatory. The entire process lasted over 6 months and involved a large-scale research and investigation uncovering information that untill now was lost in city filing cabinets and the campus archive's dusty shelves.

It was first released to the public in 2002 at Circle Fest in University Circle. It was displayed at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, projected on their planetarium's dome. It was also shown at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Although the DVD did spark some intrest at the time, the observatory did not receive any help. It wasn't untill March 2005 when the story resurfaced when Mike O'Malley of the Plain Dealer wrote a wonderful article on the state of the observatory and our efforts. This article made it to the front page of the Easter Sunday edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

We have a few short clips of the original DVD that can be viewed by clicking on the images to the right.
