The Restoration Efforts

Our goal is to see the Warner & Swasey Observatory restored to its original state. We understand that due to light pollution a practical astronomical use of it may not be possible, however the structure can fit other purposes. Current ideas are a restaurant, loft apartments, museum, educational facility, etc.

We have scheduled a presentation with the City of East Cleveland in May in hopes to gather more support. We are also meeting with architectural firms to discuss appraisals and renovation proposals.

However, we are still looking for investors who would be interested in restoring the building.

It has come to our knowledge that the City of East Cleveland is on the cusp of foreclosing the property from the owner. This in and of itself is a unique and appropriate time for an investor to make a move. With the building constructed by the renowned architectural firm Walker and Weeks, the building is guaranteed to be placed on the National Registry of Historic Places, meaning tax breaks on the property and plenty of help.
