	Several years ago, Sienna moved from her hometown of Toastwood to the picturesque city of Portallini. Being surrounded by prickly Cacti most of her life, she had never experienced a true Autumn. A few months after her arrival in Portallini, she witness the trees burst into an array of vivid fall colors that were made even more amazing against the translucent blue of the canals. The aroma of pumpkin spice from Chicory Café wafted through the streets, and Sienna immediately fell in love with the season. Although she’s having difficulty making friends, she loves her new home.

Sneak Peek: Short and Long Goals

Hey Everyone!

As you know, we announced our newest game, Slider Scouts. It will be our first Free App, and will work on both tablets and phones.

For this week, we wanted to touch upon the goals in Slider Scouts. Here at Flipline Studios, we really love making games that you can play forever. This can be seen in Papa’s Gamerias, Jacksmith, and even Steak & Jake. Like those games, we developed Slider Scouts with that same idea in mind. Because an endless game naturally has no finite “end”, we incorporate many different goals into these games.

With Slider Scouts, we have a variety of long-term and short-term goals to work towards. Some goals within the game are leveling-up, collecting furniture, earning Merit Badges and unlocking Scouts. There are 75 Scouts that can be unlock by either reaching a certain rank or offering coins to the Great Slider Shrine. However, there are 5 super-rare Scouts that can only be unlocked by earning Scout Stars, giving you a nice long-term goal to work towards.

As you play Slider Scouts, you slowly earn points to level up your Rank and unlock all sorts of cool things. But what you may not know is that those points also increase your Scout’s star meter…

As your Scout travels and accumulates points, their star meter fills, allowing you to earn up to 3 stars for each Scout. Your total Scout Stars can be seen when you enter the Scout Lodge in the upper right hand corner of the screen. When you earn enough Scout Stars, a Rare Scout will be awarded to you with great fanfare.

Now that is a long term goal, however, we also have another short-term goal we have yet to touch upon… Treasure Chests!!!

As you start each adventure, you will slide your way through many rooms. As you do, you will undoubtedly stumble upon new areas and obstacles to overcome. The farther down the winding path you travel, the more challenging it becomes. If you happen to make it far enough in a single outing, you may come across a giant treasure chest. These could be filled with coins stashed away by a long-gone explorer, or maybe some lost cargo containing fine furniture from across the land. The only way you’ll know is to open the chest by sliding into it!
