Why do we need to update the games?
All the Flipline Games that you currently have use Mochi Media’s Live Updates. Mochi Media will be turning off Live Updates by the end of this month, March 31st, 2014. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
How do Live Updates Work?
Every time one of our games starts loading, it downloads a small patch file from Mochi Media’s Live Update servers containing only the minimum differences. The game is then decrypted, patched, and starts right up.
Why does this matter to my site?
Throughout the years, we have been constantly updating our games on your site automatically. We do this to fix bugs along with adding improvements and new features to the game. When the Live Update servers turn off, our games on your site will revert back to the original version that you initially downloaded for your site. This will cause all previous bug fixes to disappear, along with all key features we added to the game. In some cases, these bugs are completely game breaking with newer Flash Player plugins.
What if I'm using "embed code" instead of hosting the games?
These versions are linking directly to the games on the Mochi Media website, but unfortunately these games will soon be removed from their site and will no longer be playable. If you were previously using an embed code for our games, you will need to download a new version of the game and host it directly on your website.
